78 Days Is Not a Victory Lap. It's a Data Point.

September 20, 2026 · 1 min read

6am, day two of a member-guest and 78 days without a drink.

I've learned I still suck at sober golf.

Here's the rest of the honest inventory:

Sleep is the surprise. Not more of it or necessarily better by any measure I can name. But I do get up feeling like my body spent the night doing something other than fighting.

The anxiety didn't go away but it is much quieter. Still there, still mine, but rarely running the room.

Clarity is the biggest change. Not subtle.

Energy is up. Presence and gratitude too. More gets done, and more of it matters.

A month ago, I wrote that I didn't know if this was forever. I still don't.

78 days is not a victory lap. It's a data point. And I'd rather leave an accurate record than a flattering one.

But it's gonna be another day.
