In January, I released a song that I didn't write alone.
I worked it out with AI, line by line, from a prompt and a feeling.
It came back in second person. "I know you. Where you came from. Where you wanna go."
It took me months to figure out who I was talking to. Turns out it wasn't one person.
A founder three years into something that hasn't worked yet. Somebody on one of our teams who hasn't said out loud what they actually want. The version of me sitting in a law office at 28, wondering if I'd ever build anything of my own.
The machine handed me the shape. I recognized what was inside it.
Two decades of operating and the variable I've watched move outcomes most isn't capital. It's whether a person had one voice in their corner saying "you're not done" on the day they'd already decided they were.
Most people don't have that voice. So they default to the other one. The one that keeps a running ledger of every scar and calls it realism.
If you're in a stretch right now where the doubt is loud: the gap between where you are and where you're going is almost always smaller than it feels at 2 a.m.
Go be the voice for somebody. Including yourself.
