I'm still working out what I believe.
Some mornings faith feels within reach but most mornings it feels like a question.
This morning's devotional asked one that stuck:
Won't people walk all over me if I'm gentle?
I've watched that fear play out for years. In negotiations. In boardrooms. In families.
The loudest person in the room often wins the moment. But they rarely win the relationship.
The leaders who build something lasting listen longer. They correct without humiliating. They hold a hard line without raising their voice.
Scripture calls that strength. God is gentle, and He is also mighty.
Gentleness isn't weakness. It's strength under control.
Paul names it a fruit of the Spirit. Not a personality trait. Something God grows in us.
"Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth." Matthew 5:5
Gentle has always been my default and I've wondered if it cost me. The longer I watch, the less I think it did.
Some of the best evidence falls asleep on my shoulder.
Coercion gets compliance. Gentleness gets commitment.
