When Dustin Hejna and I started talking about Friendever, the thing that kept pulling us in wasn’t the product roadmap. It was simple ideas, including: what if kids learned early that bravery isn’t the absence of fear?
I think a lot of the work we do now is unlearning the version of “brave” we picked up as kids. The one that said don’t flinch, don’t show it, don’t talk about it.
Turns out that version isn’t bravery. It’s armor. And armor gets heavy.

That you can be scared and still take the next step. That uncertainty is part of the deal.
That courage is something you practice, not something you’re born with.
Friendever is being built around that idea for kids, and maybe for the parents listening alongside them.
