The Moment Isn’t Coming. This Is Everything.

May 26, 2026 · 1 min read

We sold our company eighteen months ago — after twelve years of building it from nothing. I waited for the moment that was supposed to come after.

It didn’t.

A week learning about some of the most influential figures in history has me reflecting on it.

Marcus Aurelius. Brunelleschi. Michelangelo. The Medici. Dante.

Every one of them is dead.

That’s one thing I can say about them for certain.

Another certainty is that whatever moment they were waiting for never came either.

Blake Mycoskie has done a lot of writing about that same question — the moment where the work would slow down, the anxiety would lift, success would finally feel like enough. He built TOMS. He sold it. The moment never came. He struggled with depression and eventually came to a realization at the heart of his new brand: We Are Enough LLC.

The giants of Italy ran out of time. Blake almost did.

The moment isn’t coming.

This is everything.
