Running Commentary on Me? Please Do.

September 6, 2026 · 1 min read

Running commentary on other people doesn't do it for me.

Running commentary on me? Please do.

I've been around a lot of the first kind. Somebody always has a read on who is overrated, who got lucky, who is about to get exposed.

I don't participate. But I don't always leave either, and I tell myself that makes me neutral.

It doesn't. Sitting there is a vote.

What changed isn't a moral awakening. It's fatigue. Building something takes everything you have.

The people I want around me talk about what they are making.

Sometimes we talk about what is falling apart in our own world. Nobody has a report on the neighbors.

If you have the energy to keep score on somebody else, you're not building hard enough.
